I took off work the first week of February, and we all went to Angel Fire for some winter fun. Hannah had skied some last year so we were eager to see what she could do on the mountain. It was a great trip. The snow was pretty good and the mountain was basically empty. I skied five days, Jennifer skied three days, and Hannah skied four days. Hannah did awesome. She did her wedge and could stop and turn on her own. On the last day, I took her to the top of the mountain and she skied all the way down by herself. I just went down in front of her and skied backwards. Then Pappy skied along beside her and made sure she didn’t go off the mountain.
Here is my little ski bunny on the way up the ski lift
And at the top. She was quite stylish thanks to Nana
We took lots of videos. Here are some of the better ones
This is one of us learning and practicing on the bunny slope
She got comfortable enough to dance while she was skiing
Here she is demonstrating her turning and stopping skills
When we were back at the house, we did some sledding in the back.
And Nathan took a turn on the skis
Nathan liked it at first, until he fell off and his face went in the snow. He was done at that point, and if you asked him about sledding or skiing, he just pointed to his face and said “FACE!!!”
Jennifer took a bit of a tumble on Wednesday and dislocated her thumb. She ended up having to get a small cast put on it for a few weeks.
Other than that, it was a great trip and we are ready to see what Hannah (and Nathan) can do next year.
