Dad and Hannah's Fort

I thought this was such a precious precious moment in the Hubley house and wanted to share. The other night Scott got an idea in his head to build a fort in the living room for Hannah to play in. This is what he came up with on a whim and they had a really good time.

I hope to make something like this for Hannah one day (our friend, B, has one and she loves it)! But for now, sheets and chairs will have to do...I don't think Hannah will mind one bit!

Thank you Father for the simple things in life.

Date Night #2

Ok....so we broke some rules a couple of weeks ago on our date night. First, we brought Hannah with us and second, we went out. But we had so much fun! My friend had sent me a coupon from DQ and we couldn't pass it up. It was buy one blizzard and get the second for .25 cents! You just can't beat that. So we went to DQ and then took Hannah to see the ducks at the duck pond. Lets just call this a family date night!

Climbing!!

Well, the title of this post says it all! Since Hannah has mastered walking (pretty much), she is now on to climbing and getting into things. She gets in baskets, pots, rocking chairs, on top of her push toys, and she tries to get on top of her music table.
I was baking in the kitchen yesterday and when I turned around she was standing on top of her fire truck (with wheels) and holding on to the kitchen table!! I wish I had a picture of it, but there was no time for that. I have to CONSTANTLY watch her!! Here are a few things she has been able to put herself in lately.

Her rocking chair...

baskets...

and pots.

Any advice on what to do with little climbers!?!

Get Involved...

Please visit this blog, read her latest post and begin praying for Katie. We might not be able to go to Uganda, but we can get involved by lifting her up in prayer and, if you are able, buy some beads!! They would make wonderful Mother's Day gifts!

Date Night #1

For our first date night, as you can see, we played Scrabble and drank wine! Don't laugh...it was really lots of fun. (If you missed it, Scott and I are doing something called Project 52: Date Nights from this blog). I'm in charge of planning our dates this month and I wanted to play a game. However, in the Hubley house most of our games are what Scott likes to call "strategy" games (imagine that). All I had to choose from was Scrabble, Cranium, Canasta, 42, and let's not forget Seinfeld: Scene it (not so much strategy, but if you know Scott you know it's a favorite).

So, I went with Scrabble. I talked a little trash in the beginning because I really thought I might win but Scott beat me in the end. Oh well...I gave him a good run.

Sidenote: I took this picture while we were playing and I showed it to Scott on the camera. He said, "Jennifer, you just showed me your letters!".....ooooops! That's why I don't play "strategy" games.

Hannah's Quilt

Isn't it beautiful!?! Scott's Aunt Marilyn made it for Hannah. She's very talented and we are so grateful she took the time to make it for our sweet girl. I just love handmade gifts. They are so special. They're the ones that get passed on from one generation to the next and always seem to bring back good memories and great stories. It inspires me to start working on my quilt. I have the blocks cut out and everything....I just need to do it!!

Thanks again Marilyn!!
