Henry’s Tricks

Henry hasn’t started talking that much yet but it hasn’t kept him from developing a number of tricks.

He can almost do a flip

He can hold the sign when they pick up Hannah from school

He can also eat yogurt by himself

December Happenings

The kids had fun in December getting ready for Christmas.  Here are a few of the random things we did around the house and out on the town.

Hannah made some headbands she got from Aunt Nancy

The boys liked helping me carry firewood

Hannah kept losing teeth!  She even made it in the paper with the rest of the first graders who were wishing for their two front teeth for Christmas!

One Saturday, Jennifer took Hannah to the Nutcracker with a friend

While the boys watched Aledo play at Cowboys Stadium.  Nathan was pretty excited if you can’t tell by the pictures

Thanksgiving 2015

We went down to Devers and Evadale for Thanksgiving.

First we went to Devers.  O and Mimi had all of the kids and grandkids there at the same time.  Twelve kids and Hannah was the oldest.  It was a little CRAZY!

We played some dominoes

And ate some good food

Nathan and I went with Will and Liam to try to shoot a deer at the farm.  They had a big time in the buggy. We saw lots of hog tracks but no animals.  Will went back the next day and got a hog.

After Devers, we went over to Evadale for a couple of days.  Pop took all the boys to the deer lease.  What happens at the deer lease stays at the deer lease, unless it ends up on the blog…

And Nathan got to shoot a gun for the first time

Then we sat in the blind for an evening hunt. We didn’t see much which shouldn’t be expected since we had two adults and three boys in a box blind.  It started raining and we almost got stuck in a mudhole on the way back.

Pop let Nathan and me hunt in the blind in his back pasture.  We hunted out there a couple of days and shot a little doe.  Nathan slept through the whole thing.

This definitely got Nathan interested in hunting.  We are looking for a lease for next season.

While we were hunting, the girls went to visit Memaw.

They also did some shopping and made some gingerbread houses at Aunt Margo’s.

When we got home, we took down our thankful tree.

and put up our Christmas tree.

Fall Soccer

Hannah and Nathan played soccer in the fall on the same team.  Nathan was supposed to play in the lower league but we figured combining practices and games was more efficient so we played him up in the next age division.  Unfortunately, that meant he wasn’t quite as dominant as last year.  Their team only scored 1 goal season.  Of course this league had two defenders and a goalie so it was harder for everyone to score.  Nathan was a good sport but he didn’t like losing.

At the last game, they saw some of their friends and had to get some pictures with them.

Halloween 2015

Nathan had a dress up day at school and opted to go as an Army man.  He assembled his own costume from his dress-up bin.

Hannah had a 50’s day at school for the 50th day of school. She really wanted to wear a poodle skirt, but again we just went with what we had.

Nan and Pop came to visit.

Pop played a little baseball with Henry.

And Nan helped us carve our pumpkins.

Then we got ready to go trick-or-treating. This year we had a beautiful Snow White, a cute little Lion and a brave Cowboy.

Our neighbors had a little party and pet parade. Surprisingly, Broady won best behaved.

and Nathan won a cupcake at the cake walk.

Henry was either running after Hannah and Nathan…

or stopping to rest in the middle of the road.

Of course we ended up with a big pile of candy at the end of our trick-or-treating adventures.
